Ardell “Professional” Eyelash Extensions Kit Review

I went to my local beauty supply store last week looking for some temporary false lashes. In that section, I noticed this professional extension starter kit. This was exactly what I was hoping for so I thought I would give it a try. As most of you who have short eyelashes probably know to go to a salon and get eyelash extensions can start at about $130-$210 and cost anywhere from $40-$120 every 2 weeks to maintain. When trying something for the first time, fake tan, your own manicure, dying your own hair, make sure you give yourself a grace period to correct any mistakes. As in never dye your hair from the first time the day before your wedding. If it turns green you will not have the time or opportunity to fix that disaster. Since I had no place important to go in the next few days I decided to give them a shot.

The first day I tried I had to start and stop. I set up everything I needed to get started and life got in the way. But since I was already prepared, I tried to do it anyway. I put the lashes on one of my eyes then had to leave the house to pick my youngest daughter up from school. It took me about 25-35 minutes to complete one eye. The glue was very hard to deal with and the idiot-proof instructions left me with a ton of questions. There was no recommended pre-treatment for my eyelashes and there was no suggested amount of time that it would take for the glue to dry and set. Also, there was no suggested method to attach the false lash to my actual lash. I applied them to the best of my ability, went to get my daughter from school, and came home with the expectation that I would apply more lashes to my other eye. When I got home I ran an eyelash brush over the false lashes and with no pressure they started to just fall off. With that, I decided not to do my other eye but instead try both eyes again tomorrow and allow myself more time.

So, the next day I gave myself plenty of time and was able to apply lashes to both eyes. Once finished, I was able to apply mascara to the false lashes. They looked really great. They lasted all day but when it came time to take my makeup off they did not hold up. I did not splash my face with water, I did not use any creams to remove my makeup but I used a makeup remover wipe and did my best to avoid coming into contact with the glue. I felt that I was successful at this but non-the less when cleaning the tips of the fake lashes they came out with very little effort. From everything I read and everything I was told. this glue was supposed to be very serious business. The kit even came with glue remover suggesting that if I wanted to remove the lashes safely I needed to use the remover. That was not at all my experience with this product. The lashes came off very easily with no discomfort at all on any of my lashes.

After I posted my review on YouTube I watched a few other video reviews that people had posted on Ardell eyelash glue and found that I was not alone in my disappointment. There were people who were commenting on why it didn’t work, and what you need to do before and after you apply, “that kind of glue is not for the kind of lashes the kit came with” and my response to that is this: If there are more steps to be taken when applying lash extensions, the extension kit should come with all the equipment needed to successfully apply lashes. If it does not come with everything needed, it's unethical to sell. Since this product does not come with everything needed and it did not deliver what it promises with the tools provided it is a scam and waste of money.

I personally took my kit back and asked for a refund as this kit did me absolutely no good. If you are on the market for false lashes and some nice tweezers it’s not bad. This kit comes with the lashes and tweezers but the glue is pretty useless. I apply false lashes on a regular basis with a regular temporary adhesive. I found this product to be no better than what I was already doing and already buying. It took me 45 minutes just to apply these lashes with this useless glue and they still came off at the end of the day, just as they would have if I had spent 5-10 minutes applying the temporary falsie adhesive. There is no reason to buy this particular kit of this brand’s name as it does not deliver what it promises.

If you use a product to apply your own lash extensions at home please tell me what you use, I would love to try it.

As previously mentioned I took this product back to get a refund. It absolutely fell sort of what it promised. It is a big waste of time and money and for that reason, I give it *1 out of 5 stars.
